I had a few things planned for this week that I probably won't get to. Instead, I quilted a couple of small tops for my quilt guild's outreach program.
When I went to the meeting Saturday, there was a table set up with several tops (kitted up with batting and backing) for members to sign out and quilt them. I asked about binding and was told they had no problem getting volunteers for that but, no one was taking them home to quilt. I had to chuckle to myself. A room full of quilters and, no one wants to quilt. What's up with that???
I took two and so did my friend. She's a professional long arm quilter who stays so busy she rarely finds time to work on her own projects. We both felt the need to help out. I'm going to try and contact the outreach coordinator and see if I can turn them in Friday and get a couple more. I don't know how many there are ready for quilting but, my friend and I are going to do the best we can to help get them done.
Here are the first two (I only quilted them, they were pieced by other members). I'm going to try to keep a page updated at the top of the blog to document them as I go. I'm sure there will be times I lose the mojo and I'm hoping that looking back on the progress will inspire me to keep going! Donation Quilting page
Now that they're done, I can work on my Scrap Busting Series #2 quilt. I'm anxious to start #3 but, I'll finish the current one first. I sure as heck don't want to add any new UFOs to the list for 2022.
