Good timing

My husband, Sam, is always and bringing home roadside finds.  He was re-purposing things long before HGTV made it cool.

This week he found a flat panel 25" TV someone had tossed out.  It works perfectly and has a new home in the garage where he can watch it while he's tinkering on the trash to treasure.

Our garage is detached so I don't always notice the latest find.  But today, I saw a couple of crates sitting in front of it.  I asked Sam if he had plans for them because if he didn't, they sure would work great under my long arm!

He said a guy at the produce stand was tossing them out and that  there were more if I wanted them.   I did, so he went back and got the rest.

The crates are light weight and 20" long, 10" high, by 12" wide.  I've already put them in place and have room to line them up in a single layer.  I plan to use them to separate my scrap fabrics for my string blocks by color families. I really like having open storage for that. I tend to be a little more organized and better at keeping my cutting table cleaned off when I can just toss the scraps behind me.   Because... you know... taking a lid off a bin is just too inconvenient.
